ALL night I dreamed about making zippered pouches! So what do you think I did first thing this morning? I'll give you one hint- I am still in my jammies and it's 8:15pm ;D Yes, I sewed ALL day! ....well, that is not entirely true. I did get the house clean with the help of my boys first. THEN I sewed for the rest of the day. Now, you may be saying, "Doesn't she have rules about getting dressed before sewing?" and you'd be correct! ..but, I had to wear make up and do my hair yesterday so I figured that I could slouch around today :) (Yes, I know that I am pretty LAME!)
Now on to the zippered pouches.....
I used Crazy Mom Quilts tutorial
HERE
The sizing is different for mine, but it is still pretty dang cute!!!

After the pouch was finished I lazed about a bit before I got to work on finishing Austin's quilt. I have a few teaser pictures. I'll take some out side tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteAnd, just in case you might be interested, I happened upon another cute little zippered pouch tutorial. It doesn't use clear vinyl but it would be cute for other things...

Thanks, Myra!!! I love that tutorial. I 'm going to have to make that one on Monday :)
DeleteOooh and I also got to thinking that if this vinyl pouch were to be used for things like make-up, then maybe it would be fun to have the fabric be that vinyl-ish fabric, so that the make-up smears and messes could be wiped off. Hmmm... you've got my mind on zippered pouches!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Hey have all of that beautiful laminated cloth now :) If you are going to sew suppers, there is an etsy store where I bought mine. They ended up being less than 40 cents a piece shipped :) Shes got a great selection. I think its called zipit. I'm off to get ready for church. Two wards to attend. I gt to speak in one of them ;)
DeleteI've seen AmandaJean's tutorial for these but haven't tried them yet. Your pouch came out super cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kat! It was very easy and I loved hand sewing the binding :) The best of both worlds!
DeleteGreat idea! Yours turned out lovely :)
