I am so happy my black and white bricks quilt finished. I attended my first meeting of the Broadbent's Modern Quilt Group in Lehi this morning. It was SO fun to meet the ladies. There were so many cute quilts and GREAT versions of the black and white bricks.
I had a few errands to run and then got home about 1. I started to baste the quilt about then. I had it quilted and bound by 9. I did run a few more errands and fixed dinner, bathed the boys and tucked them in too ;) Now to clarify, by cooking dinner, I mean getting my 10 year old to put the left over Chicken Carbonara in the microwave :) They ate it all so I had a brownie for dinner ;) My hubby went to the REAL game and I should really come up with another sewing project for tonight ;D
Of course, I used minky for the back. I had this pink and thought it would be perfect with the black and white. |
We are linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts today for Finish it Up Friday :)
ENVY! And all I could get done between 5:30 and 11 is an Easter basket... Not fair! AND I haven't even had dinner :) Your quilt looks AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteI had to get this one finished :) its nice when thekidsare big enough to handle a bit of neglect :)
ReplyDeleteMarion, I just wanted to tell you that I bought myself a can of 505 spray just to try it out. I did a couple of practice quilting (spare fabric quilt sandwich about 10x15) then I did a little doll quilt I made for Amanda. I'm loving being able to quilt myself! Thanks for getting me going on home-quilting!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have to say I LOVE the 505!!!! It is such a breeze! I took the fabric outside by the garage, took turns laying them on a big piece of cardboard, sprayed, sandwiched, took them inside and quilted!!! SO EASY! I loved not having to stop to take out pins while quilting and the spray held Beautifully!
I know you love your pins (I have them too and have used them lots in the past) but I have to say that I HIGHLY recommend you try the spray. Just for fun. You just might like it!
: )
And I love your zig zag quilt!
Where did u get it?
ReplyDeleteI bought it at American Quilting at 800 N in Orem. I had seen it on Amazon for $19.99 for an 8.5 oz can, but this quilting store had it for $12.99 for the same size can. I don't know if it's the cheapest place but that's where I bought it.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt its so cute.
