The binding all piled on the floor waiting to be sewn on. |
My 14 year old held this up so I could snap a quick shot. I LOVE it! ...now I know that's a shock ;D I am pretty sure that my son will love it too!

Grey dimple minky for the back per my son's request. |
I decided to go with the walking foot this time. I had fun with this one and it was pretty quick too. It's finished size is 60x78. Perfect for a growing boy!
Great job and it's finished, yaaaay! Was the minky fabric tricky to work with? I always wanted to try it, but thought it's too slippery for me...
ReplyDeleteI was worried it would be, but its been great. When I make the quilt sandwich, the minky just has to be gently taut.... not too taut but not to slack, just like the porridge ;D
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that? I'm digging the minky on the back...I'm working on a baby quilt that will have minky on the back...it will be my first time with the fabric.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I love the name of your blog. :)
Great quilt! I'm glad to hear you like the minky. I have a few yards in my stash but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. Good to know it isn't too hard to work with.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt!! :o)
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics! Sure to be treasured for years to come! Smiles~Beth
ReplyDeleteYou have tons of finishes you go girl! Love this manly quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe word "Manic" has been coming up a lot around my house regarding my quilting ;)
ReplyDeleteDid you seriously just start quilting this year?? I would never have guessed it. This quilt looks fantastic! With that cuddly minky back, he will definitely LOVE it. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful. I have never tried the minky. I don't seem to have any application for it. but it is tempting....
