Beer Quilt

My dear friend hired me to make a quilt for her boyfriend for Christmas.

He LOVES beer, but due to a medical condition cannot drink it anymore.

My my friend saw this kit at our local quilt shop (Gracie Lou's, Salem, Utah) she knew it was PERFECT for him for Christmas :)

It is a simple Turning Twenty pattern with super fun prints and chenille.

For the quilting I did a bubbly wave fmq.

She also had me quilt in some fun personal messages :)

It ended up being HUGE!!!

99" x 82"

She requested grey minky for the back.

If you look closely at the picture below, you can see "To my dear Wesley" quilted on the quilt.

Wes loved his quilt.  Rumor has it that he even shed a tear or two.
(No one has ever made him a blankie before!)

  1. What a great quilt!! I love the combo of short strips and squares. Your quilting techniques are awesome. I hope to one day have a machine that I can make those swirlys with ;-)

  2. I would think a quilt with beer bottles would make want to drink more. You did a great job.
