Temple Bag QAL The Strap

I am so sorry this post late!  I am still trying to get well and Monday was another day in bed :/

Anyhoots, on to the straps :)

Please take your strap fabric and sew two 2-1/2" by 50" strips, one from each of your strap fabrics.

Press the seams open.

Now, starting at one end of one of the 50" strips, begin to press the pellon to the fabric.  When the pellon stops, just place the next strip of pellon right up next to the the edge of the last piece of pellon.  They do not need to over lap.  Press WELL!!!

Now put the two pelloned strips right sides together and sew a quarter inch seam down both of the long sides and on one end.  (Be sure to stagger any seams you have so they don't fall in the same part of the strap)

Now using your long skinny tool of choice, turn the strap right side out. (I use a chopstick.)

Once it is right side out, take out the stitches on the one skinny end and press your strap WELL!

Once you are all pressed, sew a series of top stitches on your strap.

Ta- DA!!!

On Instagram use #MQDtemplebagQAL and #MyQuiltDiet to share your progress:)

**** As a special side note, if you live anywhere close to Payson, Utah, we will be doing this project together on the fourth Thursday of January.  Please message me if you would like information about coming to sew with us :)  No creepy murderers, please ;D

***One of my quilty BFF's is an Embroidery Guru!  She has templates for many of the LDS temples :)  She will embroider an LDS temple for your bag, if you'd like :)  It is $5 if she already has the template, and $10 if she needs to order it.  Please leave me a comment, if you are interested.  Be sure that you are not a "no reply blogger" or I cannot get your info to her :(  If you are not sure if you are a "no reply blogger" please include your email in your comment.  One hint that you might be a "no reply blogger" is if I never reply to your comments :(:::.....

  1. I finally got the pockets and straps done a few days ago, and am excited to get the bags together. It'll have to wait a bit though, my brother is very ill and I'll be out of town a few days visiting. Mine will be wild and crazy, seems to be my trademark, but hopefully, wild and crazy in a good way, lol.
