Corrine's Chevron Quilt is FINISHED!!! :)

It's late and I'm tired, but what's new ;D.  I am so happy this quilt is finished.  I needed a quilt finish this week.  The retro flower quilt is a slow goer and I need the buzz from a finish ;D  Here are the pictures.  I'll take some out side tomorrow :)

I ended up having to do white for the quilting on the back.  I tried to do black on the back but it could be faintly seen on the white front :(  I am really happy with this pretty queen sized quilt.
Tomorrow I am going to post detailed pictures of my Kindle Fire cover for Myra at http://shetaughtmetoloveit.blogspot.com/.  I may have to post some of her handy work that I have in my home :)  Myra is tremedously talented.  Look for it tomorrow.... Friday ;)
xo- HAVE a great weekend!!!

*** Outside pictures :)

The only parameters for the quilt models was to NOT LET GO OF THE QUILT ;D

WIP Wednesday Update...

I'd post this late tonight, but I've got a hot date in the works ;)
So, Corrine's quilt was a bit trickier to get off the ground than I had thought.  I forgot that I did not have the outer border on it, so I needed to press the border fabric and figure out how wide they needed to be.  Once that was done, I realized that the backing should probably be pre-washed as it it BLACK!  I rubbed a damp piece of fabric on it and some black came off :(  Into the washer it went.  While it was washing, I made this for my friend Marianne's birthday.

I REALLY like it and I hope she will too.  We are having lunch tomorrow to celebrate our birthdays.  We are just a week apart in age.  The funny thing is that our oldest daughters are almost the exact same age too :)

Once the quilt back was out of the dryer and pressed I realized that it now is just BARELY big enough :p  I had to piece it with a seam up the middle :p to spare any extra width.  This actually worked out well as the pattern matched pretty well.  I guess we will all have to live with the seam in the least bestest spot ;)
Here is the back pinned to the floor...

Here is a shot of the bat and top rolled up waiting to get spread on the backing...
I forgot to take a picture with everything pinned to the the floor and the quilt basted, but here it is basted and un-pinned from the floor ;D

I started to quilt straight way, but soon needed to get ready for my HOT date ;D  This is what it looks like all heaped around my sewing machine waiting for me to come back and sew!
If you look close, you can see a little quilting in there :)
Happy Wednesday night!  I am off to have a BLAST!!!

Oh WAIT!!!  Just as I pressed "publish" my boys came in with this box from the UPS guy.... could it be another present?!  Whooppiee it is!!!  This one is from my AMAZING sister Alyson who lives in Seattle :)

It is from Williams-Sonoma and it smells SO wonderful!  There is lavender, Santa Cruz oregano, sage and rosemary.  BEST DaY EVER!!! :)

WIP Wednesday ..so much to do... so little time...

Yesterday, my head was still tender, so I just chilled.  I did get all of my curved petal pieces pinned, sewed and pressed :)

Now I am working on sewing the sashing on the square petal pieces...
So here is what I've got simmering on my burners...
I've GOT to baste and quilt Corrine's quilt.  It is driving me NUTS that this is not finished.  As soon as I finish this post, that is where I am heading.  I can finish my quilt later.  I've got to get this bad boy DOnE!!
Here is the other spur in my boot...

Ashley's quilt.  I was thinking that I'd give it to her for her birthday in July, but on second thought, I think it will be her graduation present.  I've got to get it off of my "to do" list.  I don't like a long WIP list.  It makes me anxious and I feel like I am accomplishing nothing.
Also on my WIP list is some sort of knitting project out of the AWESOME yarn I got for my birthday from Suzy...
I am thinking a throw.  Here is what I have so far... DO NOT LAUGH!!!
I'm going to have to undo it and get longer needles, but I have been playing with a pattern to see if I like it.  This is a "no hurry" project, like the Retro Flower quilt is going to have to be.  I can live with a few of those, for a period of time, but not too many.  I am always in a hurry and I want everything done NOW ;D  My poor kids :(
Oh, I have to get my hubbies quilt finished for his birthday next week.
I am using Emily Herrick's brilliant "Going Coastal" to make her equally brilliant quilt "Surf Shop" quilt for him.  He's going to LOVE it!  THANK YOU, Emily for the pattern.  I am SO excited to make this quilt :)  I am also making the same quilt, different fabric, for my nephews room.  I need to do some figuring for fabric as it is for a twin sized bed.   ....another thing on my list :)

So here is the action plan for the week.  I am going to get Corrine's quilt basted and start quilting on it today.  I'd like to have it all finished by tomorrow night.  100% possible.  I need a big finish for this week.

I'll work on David's quilt Saturday while he is at work.  I can probably get it cut and the top pieced.  Quilting can be done next week while he is at work.
I am sure there are more plans that need to be made, but these will work for now :)

What Happened to Wednesday?

I forgot to post yesterday.  WEIRD!  Well, let's see if I can catch y'all up :)  I have already forgotten most of yesterday.... so here is what is finished as of tonight ;)  Corrine's quilt top is finished.  I am hoping to at least get Corrine's quilt basted and ready to be quilted Saturday.  I have a lot going saturday, so I am not sure how far I will get with that baby.  Here are the pics of Corrine's quilt..

These all look exactly the same.  I cropped them all so much that you can't see the whole thing.  Oh well, scroll fast ;D  I really like it.
Now for some exciting knitting news....drum roll please... I have started my knitted my own pair of socks :)

I bought self striping yarn.  They are going to be cute, but probably a bit lop sided and mis-sized :(  I can live with that ;)  Here is the progress on my snake cozy...
There is a stretch of knit-pearl that will be repeated later on.  This yarn is SO thick that it is a bit dificult to pearl for me, knitting is hard on this yarn :(
My hubby is snoring and I am just about to nod off myself.  Night night!
