Easter Morning Success :)

The Easter Bunny came by and dropped off a good ol' stash of loot ;)

About 6:30 the kiddos started to to wake up and brought their gifts in to show the sleeping parents....

She has to close her eyes as to not have them burned out by DH's morning breath ;D

The Easter Bunny even left my husband a haul from World Market...

I was SUPER lazy and used the paper plates left over from last night BBQ.  Not doing dishes was my gift to myself for Easter :D

Bake a little, quilt a little, bind a little

I woke up super early and headed off to the grocery store to get all of my holiday eats.  I had to make a 1/2 sheet carrot cake and a potato salad.  Check out my cake :)

Layer #1 on the board.  I was actually out of 1/2 sheet boards and in NO WAY going back to the store to get one, so I just improvised with cardboard and foil ;D

At this point I usually decorate, but I was out of frosting and  time... and enthusiasm!

For a switch today I had to force myself to quilt.  The detailed fmq was NO fun so I had to make myself quilt one block at a time in between making caked and potato salad.  I did get the quilt finished about 10 minutes ago.  Here is a sneak peek.  I'll take some better pics tomorrow before I give it to my mom for Easter.

Sorry, I have to start with my FAVORITE Easter funny-

I really need to post when I am fully awake, but such is life.  I should leave all my misspellings and typos for fun ;)  I miss half of them anyway :(
I basted and started quilting the Cherry Cherry Picnic.  I really got myself in WAY over my head as I am trying to do some detailed fmq. :p  Here are the shots of what I am attempting.  I have had to walk away from this bad boy repeatedly.  I hope I can make myself get it finished tomorrow so I can give it to my mom for Easter.  MOm, if you are reading this, STOP NOW and turn away from your iPad!!!
Oh, I forgot, I cleaned up my sewing spot.  It was a wreck!  Here are the before pics...

I think I like just the meander stuff.  It's faster and it plays better to my "get it done NOW" mindset ;D

PS- I added another tab at the top for the crazy slippers I crocheted for all of my nieces and nephews for Christmas :)

April 6th and 2" of SNOW... so far :p

When my 8 year old told me it was snowing, I thought, "WHAT THE CRAP????"  ....then I decided to go take some pictures :)

I got so much done yesterday that I didn't have much to do today...or so I thought!  I had a bag to do today that I thought would be a snap.... NOT!  I had to take a break and make this cute little guy...

I saw him on some blog that I can't remember, but here is the tutorial from Sew Much Ado that they mystery blog that I can't remember linked me to.  ...did that make any sense?  ... I really should blog when I am awake ;D

Now back to what I was really supposed to be doing today.  I was supposed to be making the bag from the Zakka Style Sew Along.  I read the pattern earlier this week and was FREAKED out by sewing all of the little triangles so I decided to make flying geese instead.  Well the fabric I had for the main bag was SO weird that sewing and cutting it was NOT FUN!  I muscled through it and ended up with this...

It's hard to see, but there is a long divided pocket along the bottom.

I have to say that I LOVE THE LINING fabric :)  The cream fabric is some sort of coated linen.  It's WEIRD!!.  It is soft and pretty, so maybe it will be ok ;)  I used to sell bags, so I just sort of did my own thing.
