Reagan's Quilt is FiNISHED!!!

At nine pm, thursday evening, I finally got the binding all sewn on :)  Sorry these pic's aren't great, but the quilt is SO big and it took two of my tallest to get these shots :)  My poor hubby did his best with only one leg to stand on ;)  The quilt is full/queen size.  It's being held on the side.  The top is too the left in both full view pictures.  And thanks to Crazy Mom Quilts....we are linking up with you today for Finish it up Friday :D

The quilt pattern I used can be found on Sassafras by Ribbon Candy Quilts of Etsy.... although I bought the quilt pattern at Gracie Lou's in Salem, Utah.  I had to modify the pattern to fit a full sized bed.  The pattern only had a throw and twin size in it.  It was super easy to do.

Basted, Quilted and ready for Binding

9:30 am, the day begins
I had to add this blue strip to the back this morning :)
My son got a hold of the camera and of course took a picture of my FLAT bum ;D
I am basting the quilt sandwich with my favorite curved safety pins.
The quilt was so big, that laying on it was the easiest way to baste it.
The following were taken by my 6 year old.  I figured I aught to include them :)

These are his piggies.
Now we are back to my pictures.  Here is my station set up on the kitchen table.  I have recently given up diet Pepsi, but I just had to have one to get through this BIG quilt with a little Mama's Helper ;D

A close up of the FMQ

 The quilting is FINISHED!!! ;D

You can sort of see the flower quilting in this picture.

The binding is all cut and waiting to be sewn.
The quilt is all trimmed and just waiting for the binding.
One more of my son's pictures.  Man, a lot changes in 22 years ;D

Reagan's Quilt is ready for basting :)

I'm not sure what I did today (minus 6 loads of laundry, washed, dried and flolded AND volunteering in my sons kindergarten class, AND going to the bank and post office AND attending a piano recital anD fixing dinner...)  As far as quilting, I made the flowers for Reagan's Quilt and pieced the back.  I was going to baste it tonight, but one section of the back is TOO SHORT so I am going to baste it tomorrow.  For now, I am going to just chill with my hubby watching season 2 of 24 (Jack Bower's 24).  Hubby went back to work to day for the first time in 6 weeks.  He said it went better than expected :)

Reagan's Quilt

After doing my chores and ellipting for 40 minutes, I cut into Reagan's Quilt.  My goal was to get going on this quilt by 10am.  I started by about 10:15am.
Chain piecing.
A pile of chained pieces.

Isn't my quilting platform COOL??  My hubby put like 5-6 coats of varnish on it to make it nice and slick :)

Pressing the pieces.

The blocks all arranged and waiting to be sewn.

Here is the top all sewn.  I just need to add the chenille flowers.

Reagan's Quilt

The quilt at Gracie Lou's in Salem
The fabrics we are going to use :)
This is a picture of the quilt I will be making for my niece Reagan.  Mandy bought all of the fabric and I get to have all of the FUN!!!  It comes in queue in March.  I am going to focus on getting the kids quilts done for their birthdays :)  So Ford needs a quilt.  I have the pattern ready, I just need the fabric.  Anna's is at the quilter :) ...I sure hope that I like it when it comes back ;D  Kate's is ready to go and Ash does not need to be finished until July.  I want' to do the $29 Quilt right after Fords.  So many quilts, so little time :D
