Modern Asterisk Update

I have been working on these DARLING blocks for quite a while now!

I am happy to say that all 18 medium asterisks are complete.

All 57 small asterisks are complete :-)

And all 9 of the large asterisks are finished!

The large asterisks are 18.5".

The medium asterisks are 12.5".

The small asterisks are 6.5".

The plan is to get this top all seen together in the next couple weeks :)

This quilt is for a customer and I am going to have the hardest time handing it over ;-)

Lila Mae's Baby Quilt

This DARLING (if I do say so myself) baby quilt is for my daughters new niece, Lila Mae.

I probably love it so much because green is my FAVORITE color :)

I used half square triangles, made with my tutorial HERE.  The design was inspired by Kristin's quilt over at SadieBird blogged HERE

For the backing I used some 1970 grandma stash from April.

Here is a closeup of the backing and the daisy fmq :)

I will make this baby again real soon!

This quilt is 45" square.

I used 7-1/2" white and green squares to form my nearly 5" (4-7/8") half square triangles.
The quilt is 10x10 hst's

DewberryCrush Diaper Bag

Here is the diaper bag version of the Temple Bag I made for my daughters, sister-in-law.  It is super cute!!!

TOO many pictures for your viewing pleasure :)

I LOVE this Notting Hill poppy print.

Pockets for cell phones and keys or binkies or whatever :)

Aren't those pink bunnies CUTE!!!

The inside.

This divided grey bunny pocket is an addition that I find useful in a diaper bag. *Instructions at the bottom*

Side bottle pockets.

Inside zipper pocket.

The back side :)

The back zipper pocket.

And finally the strap :)  I officially LOVE this bag!!!

Because I made this bag with what I had on hand from the Joel Dewberry windfall, I needed to modify the size.  It is the PERFECT size.  Here are my modifications.  All measurements are the cut size, unless otherwise noted as a finished size.

Measurements:
Exterior 19-1/4" x 27-3/4"
2 large inside pockets 13-1/2" wide x 22" high
front pocket finished size 7.5" x 12"
bottle pockets 8" x 17"
flap finished size 12-3/4" x 16"
finished size for the additional  shorter divided pocket on the inside 5-1/2"x 12-1/2" *

*to add this pocket, place the finished shorter pocket on top of the finished larger one and top stitch the dividing seam down the middle of the shorter pocket, THEN top stitch the whole unit into the interior lining to form the large pocket.

Dewberry Crush Notions Bag

We had a fun Quilty BFF Christmas party this past Thursday :)

We met for lunch and had a gift exchange.

I made this sweet little zippered pouch out of some of my AWESOME fabric the Dewberrys sent down my way :)  Blogged HERE (...and they even sent another HUGE bag down my way after Thanksgiving...I sort of want to DIE with excitement and gratitude!!! ...but I don't want to brag or anything ;D)

Sweet Natalie went home with this little cutie ;)

It measures about 11"x 4".

Notting Hill Tote

My niece is being baptized tomorrow :)

My mom suggested I make her a tote for her new set of scriptures.

(I am so glad that she reminded me about a gift for Megan)

With the wedding and other madness around here, it was likely that I forget this special event :(

Megan's favorite color is pink.

I busted into my newly aquired Joel Dewberry stash ;D

I am LOVING this cute little bag.

Of course I added one zippered pocket and one regular open one.

I hope Megan likes it :)

...if not, I'll gladly take it back :)

Super GEEK Out!

Are you ready for a story?

Me and Michelle
Well, my bff is Michelle.  She is AMAZING!  She also runs REALLY fast!!!

Michelle beating all of the boys!
She moved to Hong Kong a few years ago :(  Anyhoots, I have known for a while time that she had a brother-in-law that did something with fabric.  I had been to family events where Michelle's in-laws were, met them, I'm sure, but not much registered with me. ...until summer 2012 when Michelle was here for her annual visit to the US.

Michelle drinking while beating a boy.
As we were chatting on the sofa about my brand new quilting hobby [obsession] she mentioned again that her brother-in-law did something with fabric.  I asked his name, but it was not familiar to me.  I looked him up online and just about fell over!  Her brother-in-law is Joel Dewberry!  I knew his fabric but I didn't know his name.

Breaking the tape for the WIN!
So fast forward to this summers visit and as Michelle and I are chatting on the sofa again, she gets a phone call from non other than Joel's wife, Laurie.  I completely start to geek out!  Michelle proceeds to pimp me out to them for sewing projects and starts to procure fabric for me as well. [Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Michelle?]

On the podium with her AWESOME cup!
Michelle has been back in Hong Kong for many months now, but I finally was able to get my hand on these two beauties...

They have been waiting in Orem for me to pick up since this past summer :)

Yes, it is a GIANT pile of fabric GOODNESS from the Dewberrys!!

[It's nearly a foot tall]

I sorted it into collections and colorways :)
..oh, yes!  There is a TON of Notting Hill :)  ...my FAVE!!!

There is so much fabric here, I can keep busy for the next year :)

[Most pieces are quite large.  Fat quarter on up, baby!]

Thank you, Laurie & Joel!!!
...and Michelle, for being the best BFF EVER!!!
