N7 Mass Effect Quilt is FINISHED

One of my new son in laws birthday is today.

According to my daughter, he LOVES the game Mass Effect.

She sent me this picture and requested that the quilt look just like it.

She also requested minky for the back.

...and of course, I had to make an awesome label for the back :)

For the quilting, I stuck with a pixelated stipple.

I used a raw edge appliqué method for the n7 and ended up doing a tiny blanket stitch around the edge.

Quilt measurements: 72" x 58"
Fabric: Moda Grunge Basics Romance Red
Riley Blake Blenders Slate
Riley Blake Blenders Shade Ph...(something, the receipt cut off the whole name ;))

Are you a No-Reply Blogger??

Unfortunately, most of the amazing people who leave comments on my blog are "no-reply blogger" :(  I still can see your comments, but I am unable to reply to them via email.  This makes me so sad, as I really love to reply back to each of your wonderful comments.

You may not know if you are or not a "no-reply blogger".  One way to tell is that if you leave comments for me on my blog and I never reply to you :(  ...which makes me so very sad :(::::.....

If you are wondering if you are a no reply blogger, leave a comment here. If I don't reply back to you within a day, you are a no reply blogger ;-)

(....and some times I think that blogger likes to turn us into "no-reply bloggers" randomly for fun :\)

Here is a link to a blog with a great tutorial for fixing the problem ;)

Deer Valley DewberryCrush Backpack

My sweet Katie Bug fell in love with the Deer Valley collection by Joel Dewberry.

Fortunately, there was quite a bit of it in my Dewberry stash ;)

She decided she needed a backpack and that I should design one for her ;)

My head hurts just thinking about it!

It looks like an alien!

Isn't she cute with her new backpack. (The back pack is really quite large. Kate is nearly 6' tall)

And , "NO!" I am not making another one EVER! 😊

Bluebird Park

My friend is getting back on the Weight Watchers plan. As a way to be held accountable, she is going to give me a fat quarter bundle each week she doesn't stick to the plan. Unfortunately, she didn't have a good weekend :(.

This week she dropped over this darling fat quarter bundle of Bluebird Park by Kate and Birdie for Moda Fabric.

I can't wait to play around with it ;)

***new twist. For each day I don't exercise, I have to give her a fq back ;)

Ps-there is no way she is getting any of that bundle back!

Xoxo

Cleaning, Shmeaning!

At some point it just has to be done!
Just to the left of my sewing table is a LARGE built in cupboard. I made a command decision and took it over. We used the built in for our DVDs and VHS videos. Last week I bought a book shelf for their new home :) (we actually need a few more shelves for it all to fit nicely)

I couldn't wait any longer, so now the other side of the family room is a wreck ;)

Here are some shots of my progress.

The shelves, free of the media and starting to be filled with my treasures.

That last pile of stuff that just won't go away :/

Presto!  It's gone ;)

TA-Da!

My German smoker sewist that my mother in law brought me back from Germany.

Now to fix the sewing table.

Done :)

I even found this vinyl sticker for my car, under a pile of fabric :D

I'm so happy!  Now I can mess it up again!

Blogging From My Phone

Due to a series of unfortunate events, I have no working computer and a new fangled smart phone. My dumb phone has been laid to rest in my nightstand and I have moved on to the latest craze. I am wasting more time than ever on social media and the laundry is piling higher than ever!

This is a top I finished up at QuiltBliss.

So how does this post look to you?

My Church Bag is FINISHED!

I decided I needed a new church bag. My old one is cute and all, but I need me some Tula squirrel love all blended up with a little Dewberry Crush!

In my church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka the Mormons) we take turns in leadership and teaching positions and other responsibilities.  This past Sunday my responsibilities got switched ;). I now get to teach the adult Sunday school class called Gospel Doctrine.

I am all ready for Sunday's lesson. I have ordered my EXTRA LARGE print scriptures so I can see them (my tablet is great for personal study but not so good when teaching a large group).

Cell phone pocket inside the squirrel pocket.

Zippered pocket inside the other squirrel pocket.

Zippered pocket and a pencil pocket inside the bag.

Another bid pocket for the inside for whatever!

TA-da!  Wish me luck in Sunday School #lifeistooshorttohaveanuglychurchbag

Lila Mae's Baby Quilt

This DARLING (if I do say so myself) baby quilt is for my daughters new niece, Lila Mae.

I probably love it so much because green is my FAVORITE color :)

I used half square triangles, made with my tutorial HERE.  The design was inspired by Kristin's quilt over at SadieBird blogged HERE

For the backing I used some 1970 grandma stash from April.

Here is a closeup of the backing and the daisy fmq :)

I will make this baby again real soon!

This quilt is 45" square.

I used 7-1/2" white and green squares to form my nearly 5" (4-7/8") half square triangles.
The quilt is 10x10 hst's

Embroidered Temples

One of my quilty BFF's is an Embroidery Guru!  She has templates for many of the LDS temples :)  She will embroider an LDS temple for your bag, if you'd like :)  It is $5 if she already has the template, and $10 if she needs to order it.  Please leave me a comment, if you are interested.  Be sure that you are not a "no reply blogger" or I cannot get your info to her :(  If you are not sure if you are a "no reply blogger" please include your email in your comment.  One hint that you might be a "no reply blogger" is if I never reply to your comments :(:::.....
