I made this tpp at one of the Peteeneet quilt show classes on Saturday taught by the AMAZING Haley DeHart. It was made with a charm pack and a very simple, but darling, pattern, "Let Freedom Ring," by Bloom Creek. I backed it with some navy fabric with stars from my stash. I used the heat resistant batting for fun ;D My boys like to call it "fire proof" :p
I did a stars and loops pattern for the fmq |
I'm not a big Americana fan either, but that is really nice. I love the stars, and the stars and swirls in the quilting are great too.
ReplyDeleteYou sil is very lucky! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThe star in the middle that looks like a flag is so cute! It turned out really nice. :)
ReplyDeleteScrappy and summery. :) The nice thing about making things for others is that it sometimes gets us out of our usual styles. I just finished a table runner for MY sis-in-law's b-day that did the same thing for me!
ReplyDeleteThere's something quite textile arty about this rather than quilty - it's different and I like that a lot, ChrissieD from P&J's blog hop :)
ReplyDeleteI love your table runner! The colors are awesome1
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like the star in the middle.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Marion, and just in time for the 4th of July!! Whoop whoop!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so well! Beautiful job! I love the loops and stars quilting and the navy blue and stars for the back and binding. Amazing!
