Austin is TOPPED!

I wasn't sure that I'd do any sewing today.  I woke up feeling pretty terrible :p  I made breakfast for all my boys (hubby too) and then headed out to visit my dad at the hospital.  He is doing well :)  When I got home I gave this quilt to my very dear friend, Jill

Once I got home, I dragged the boys to the store to buy some grey fabric for my Retro Flower Quilt back ground.  It's gonna look AWESOME!  I am so excited to get that cut out and sewn.  WHEN WILL THE PACKAGE COME WITH MY INVISI-GRIP!!!????
Anyway, as the evening wore on, I suddenly decided to get to work on Austin's quilt... well, I thought I was just going to cut it out, but here is what happened....
I cut it out and then sewed up all of the blocks....

Then I sewed up the blocks into rows.... and then the rows into a  top :)

This is the best shot of the colors.

Next came the stop border.
....and then finally the outer border.

I am pretty happy about this finish :)  Tomorrow I will buy the batting and backing and get this bad boy quilted & bound on Saturday.  It is only a little quilt, 50x60.  I am going to back it with brown minky.  It's pretty much going to ROCK!!!

I am linking this post up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict WHOOP WhOOP!!
and Crazy Mom Quilts finish it up Friday!!!

    1. Thank you :) those colors are very cool, especially together. There is a kelp print and a sand dollar one. Both remind me of days on the chilly california coast where i grew up. The brown minky on the back should cuddle it up nicely. :)

    1. Kat, you are so sweet. Thank you so much! I hate days when I don't feel good. I mostly have to just pretend that I feel great and then pretty soon I do :)

    1. Thank you! I was told that minky rocked, and now its the only thing I use :) I had to back a minky in something else and it just seemed so cold and WRONG ;)
