Why not post three times today :) I mean, seriously, super fun, right?
So, I realized that tomorrow is the last day of Teacher Appreciation week at the elementary school. I figured I'd better get some sewing done :) First off I made myself a new checkbook cover from the tutorial at crazymomquilts.blogspot.com HERE.
I know I said that it was Teacher Appreciation, but I figure I am my children's BEST teacher ;D
So next I made my neighbor, Suzy, knitter extraordinaire, a sock needle case :) She's an AWESOME teacher, right? It is also a Mother's Day present for her too :)
She'll be able to put all kinds of needles in that bad boy. I used the tutorial found at A Spoonful of Sugar HERE. I increased my length to 10" from 7" in the original tutorial. I also did not quilt the inside or piece the exterior. I lined the lining and exterior fabric with fusible pellon. I really seem to have an issue with following patterns exactly.
Lastly I finally got around to making the zippered pouch for my 2nd graders teacher. The 5th graders teacher is out of the classroom until next week, so no hurry for that one. I also am going to make something special for the kindergartners teacher. So, without further ado, here is the cute bag. Anybody want to guess what the exterior fabric is?
Yes, I am having an orange pink thing going on ;D
Have a GREAT night! It is now 11pm so I have turned into a pumpkin. Hopefully DH will be home soon so I can fall asleep :)

DeleteI'm a teacher in SLC and although the PTA was generous, I would have loved that bag! What a lucky teacher your son has. Beautiful colors! If I could just convince everyone that teachers really don't like cutesy apples and abc's.........
ReplyDeleteOh my! I always figured that apple crap was not the way to my teachers hearts. ;) I'm not sure what the pta did, but I had to be sure my kids teachers got at least one SUPER cool thing ;) ....filled with chocolate :) lol
